2019! To friendships & community!!

Helloooo 2019!!!!

I love the start to a new year! Nothing is better than reflecting on what went well and making goals for the new year you want to bring to your life.

I didn’t always feel like this as new years hit. I used to get sad and feel life my life was speeding past. In some ways I will always feel like that but mostly I am excited for what can come of a new year and new goals.

The last 3 years I have followed a blueprint that involves reflection, analysing what is working and not working and then some goal setting for what I want to implement.

3 years ago was about living a toxic and chemical free life. As we had spent the previous 5+ years changing our food, we discovered that all the healthy and nutritious food wasn’t going to have as bigger impact on us if we still breathed in toxic air fresheners and applied chemical body products. This was also the year that pure grade essential oils came into my life. Wow what a change it made! We swapped out chemical and toxic cleaning products, then our personal products and finally we implemented DIY cleaning and personal products into our family, home and lifestyle.

2 years ago it was establishing a healthy morning routine that included self care and quiet time. I would get up in the morning, at least an hour or more before my kids. It changed my whole mood for the day and meant that I enjoyed time by myself. I would also listen to personal development podcasts and YouTube videos to see what successful people did with their morning routine. I continued tweaking mine until it suited my own needs and that of my family.

Last year was all about daily healthy habits. It of course included my morning routine but also extended the self care routine and other healthy habits that were added throughout the day and into the night. As I tweaked it I continued to also teach others of these small little changes, that are implemented throughout the day, creating a day consisting of healthier food and lifestyle choices.

And what does this year bring….?

First I want to tell you how I spent the Christmas holiday period. With my family, my puppy, awesome food and in nature.

Every year we take off for at least a week to camp in the bush. Now some say we ‘glamp’ and while yes we do have lots of comfort in our camping, we are still in the middle of the bush with a not so pleasant toilet and all the insects and bugs.

Why do I love it so much?? Well this is how our day goes.. We wake up to the birds chirping and the sound of a fresh water creek. Before the sun has too much of an impact we slowly crawl out of bed (yes I have a queensize spring mattress) and hug each other and check we all had a good nights sleep. Then we take our 10 month old blue American Staffy (which is a celebrity around here) for a walk along the stream (and for her to follow her call to nature)

One of us will then put on a pot of coffee and begin the breakfast of either bacon and eggs or sautéed greens and tomatoes with a topping of avocado.

We then will, depending on the day, either head into town for supplies and to check our phones (we have no reception where we go… ahhhh the benefits!) or we settle in a lounge chair or hammock to read a novel or listen to the wildlife.

Before it really heats up, we set off for some exploring and to see if there is anything new happening within our camping spot.

After lunch, which is either a Ploughmans board or leftovers from the amazing dinner cooked the night before, - trust me when I say, we aren’t the normal campers of steak and salad, no way, we do slow cooked curries, slow cooked roast lamb, locally caught gummy shark and salad, BBQ sticky ribs,  you name it! We head off with some packed snacks and drinks for an arvo by the river. This includes a lot of blow up swimming devices like beds, rings, and pool noodles. The kids (some adult kids as well) will also swing off a rope into the river for a bit of fun.

After that we head back to our campsite and either sit in the cold stream close by or begin a game of cards. Dinner is already planned (the foodies that we are) and of course we stop to admire the amazing sunsets, listen to the kookaburras and wash up before the night unfolds.

Over this period we usually have friends and family come and go, few nights here and there, which keeps the company interesting and fun!

2019 I will continue with providing 7 day cleanses that give you an amazing opportunity to reset your food and lifestyle choices, offer amazing retreats with Higher Living Retreats and support others to live healthier and happier with doTERRA Essential Oils!

Now back to 2019 goal setting! For me this year is about community and friendships! I want to surround myself with motivated and inspiring people and hopefully be that person to others too.. I want to create a ripple effect of healthy eating and healthy living. The best part?? I want YOU to be part of my goals!!

If the idea of a walking buddy sounds good, someone to do a fun class with on the weekend, a night at the movie’s together to watch a chick flick, grab a coffee and have a laugh, talk together about life goals or silly jokes, I’m your person! I am open and I am ready!

No drama, no negativity, just fun and friendship!! Who’s with me??
